Vintage 1969 Men’s Seiko World Time Automatic Wristwatch

Pre-Owned Collectible Watch

that we bought at an estate sale.

This fine watch represents the end of an era, by 1969 Seiko had perfected the automatic winding watch mechanism in the 61xx calibre movement.
1969 is also the year that Seiko produced the first quartz watch, from then on the automatic took a backseat with the 1970′s 71xx movement.

This watch has the classic 6117-6010 movement, it has a date register and a third 24-hour hand calibrated to the main hour hand and an inner bezel.
The inner bezel is for setting the time zone and is turnable when the crown is closed.
At halfway, the crown controls the date register and at full extension it controls the time.

Condition:
Gently Used – Great for 41 years old, normal wear, some marks, see photos.

How did it get here so fast??

We have been talking for weeks about what kind of sales we would do in the stores and now its here and we have been working so hard on getting things listed that we haven’t gotten ready to put things on sale! ooooPS!

At Bonanza we were lucky, there is only one way to do a sale there. They call them “Rushes” now.  As a seller you need to join one that they have scheduled, fortunately they have a “Collectibles Rush” going Friday at 3 PM. About a third of the things that we have for sale at Bonanza are collectibles.

Up for auction is a used Water Pitcher that we bought at an estate sale.

This metal pitcher has only one marking that we can find.
On the side was engraved what appears to be a crest from a ‘ Hotel Oakland ‘
The engraving as well as the detail on the handle is extremely worn.

We could only find information on one ‘Hotel Oakland’

Originally constructed between 1910 and 1912 with funds exceeding $3,000,000, the hotel became a prominent social center during
the next decade. Presidents Wilson, Coolidge, and Hoover were guests at the facility, as were other celebrities,
including Amelia Earhardt, Sarah Bernhardt, Jean Harlow, and Mary Pickford.

During the 1930′s, the hotel was forced into bankruptcy several times as the result of the depression and management difficulties.
In 1943, the U.S. Army took possession of it for use as a hospital. All furnishings were auctioned off, including irreplaceable
chandeliers of which only photographs remain. Following World War II, several unsuccessful attempts were made to
reopen the hotel for public use. The Veterans’ Administration eventually occupied the facility as a hospital until August of 1963.
For the next 15 years it stood vacant. In 1978
a Boston-based developer obtained possession and remodeled it into a housing project for the elderly. It remains in this use today.

Currently, the exterior of the building and all two-story spaces on the main floor are on the National Register of Historic Spaces.
These grand, ornately decorated rooms include the main entrance lounging room; the Corinthian-columned,
5,000-ft2 ballroom; the dining room; and the cafe, which has 30-ft-high oak-paneled walls and a finely detailed plaster ceiling.

We just got this Native American-style motorcycle figurine, it is fully dimensional, superbly crafted, and hand-painted for thrilling detail and realism – check out the die-cast engine assembly, saddle-stitch style seat with studs, the sculpted feathers, and the drilled-out front disk brakes. You can find it at our ebay and Bonanza stores.

A little more than a mo-ped but I could get used to riding across the country on this! But for now I’ll just have to keep dreaming!

Vallejo works with Julie Bell, his wife, painter, and model. His work is almost exclusively in the fantasy and erotica genres. His hyper-representational paintings have graced the covers of dozens of science fiction paperbacks and are featured in a series of best-selling glossy calendars. Subjects of his paintings are typically gods, monsters, and well-muscled male and female barbarians engaged in battle. Some of his male figures were modeled by Vallejo himself, and many of his later female characters were modeled by his wife.

We have more of these Calendars for sale at Bonanza and eBay…so far we’ve only got 6 of them up, but we are working to get the rest up, so keep checking back for them!

His latest works still retain heavy fantasy elements, but lean more towards the erotic rather than pure fantasy themes. Vallejo has been named as the artist guest of honor at Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention.

Well it took us awhile and some patience on our part, but we finally found the perfect home for the ‘Stump Table’ with smoked glass top.

The new owner drove out from L.A. She said that she had been searching and searching to find a stump that had not been finished with acrylic or lacquer, but had been left in it’s natural condition and one that was all one piece. It sure was a beautiful work of art and I’m sure it will be the center of attention in her decor!

We finally had someone ask for a “freebie”!

So far the only thing we have marked as Freebie are books. The books were already listed here and at eBay, but when eBay re-structured their fee pricing a few months back, we took most of the books down. Then we thought we would let the customer choose one “freebie” item for every one item bought. You just pay for the extra shipping.

Of course we combine the shipping and the first Freebie we sent out, the customer ended up getting some of the shipping cost back!

We’re adding items everyday, so keep checking back for new “Freebie” items to be added too!

My Auntie Em was way into rubber stamping! I got into it a little and now I combine different methods of making cards.

For easy rubber stamp clean up, get yourself a package of baby wipes. After you use a stamp on your project, lay it on a baby wipe sheet. You can then continue with your project without stopping to clean off each rubber stamp. When you’re done, now you have an easy task of cleaning all your stamps, because most of the ink has transferred off onto the wipe! Happy Stamping!

This is just too sad, this cute little set was headed to a happy home in Vermont…but on the way they were smashed to pieces!

We used tons of bubble wrap and taped it around each piece and then used more bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts. But somehow they shifted and a plate broke, another one got chipped and a handle on one of the cups broke. Our customer suggested using newspaper between the bubble wrapped pieces. She said, “sometimes that helps”. Adding paper will add to the weight, which adds to the cost and shipping is so outrageous as it is. We always insure for anything over $25…guess we’ll be lower that, we ended up eating the cost of the plates and shipping on this one. Hopefully this will be our only one!
