March 30th ebay versus Bonanzle ?
My wife and I are new to this online selling thing, so we are constantly reevaluating our methods. Well with the major price hike that ebay has announced for March 30th, looks like a lot of sellers are reevaluating. From what I have read some sellers are saying that their cost of selling on ebay will double. A lot of sellers are saying that they will quit, that the increased costs will completely eat up any small profit margin that they had left.
In our limited experience, since our items are unusual, some, one of a kind, we are kind of stuck with the high prices at ebay. We have everything listed at Bonanzle as well, but things just don’t get seen there as much. So it goes without saying that the sales are low. But our costs after listing at Bonanzle for almost 5 months - zero dollars.
I have learned alot reading the message boards at ebay, I guess they do these rate hikes every year, and they do it very cleverly, ebay’s pricing structure seems to be written by the IRS, full of loop holes, all obviously designed to glean ebay a penny or two on each transaction. I have even noticed software glitches that always seem to error in ebay’s favor. (keep your eye on the gallery check box, it has very very annoying glitch that costs you 35 cents, regularly)
